What do you think of Vera's willingness to argue with God? Which of her arguments resonated most with you? Do you think that by baring her soul in this manner she makes legitimate claims? Influences the outcome? Endears herself or alienates her Creator? Have you ever argued with God in such a manner?
What do you think of Vera's rage at the toxicity of the phrase miserable sinner? Do you think the language of innate unworthiness should be retained or purged from our personal prayer and religious services? Why?
Do you find it easier to believe that extreme spiritual experiences such as astral travel, levitation, bi-location, and automatic prophetic writing occurred in the distant past rather than in the present? To women more than men, or the reverse? Do you think the limitation of our beliefs also limits the possibilities of these experiences?
Women in the Bible were clearly honored by Jesus. Historians also believe that women in the early church served as active ministers/priests. In contrast, even recent popes have forbidden the ordination of women, as well as any discussion of the topic. Did the characters in this story influence your opinion of women as priests? Pro or con?
Do you think women would have to leave the traditional Church to be ordained? Given the vast numbers of women whose services support their parishes, what impact would such an exile have on the traditional Church? As with Luther and Galileo, do you think, in time, that women would be invited to rejoin?

In his speech of January 2009, the Dalai Lama said, "Western women will change the world." Do you agree? If so, do you see this as a movement of empowerment, or one of spirituality and compassion, or both?
